Demarcus Cousins will be coming to New Hampshire to support Bishop Elite, an AAU youth basketball program and non-profit organization that benefits underprivileged children in Southern New Hampshire. Demarcus will be featured in the 4 day long Elite Skills and Drills basketball camp to be held at the Sport Zone in Derry, New Hampshire from July 5–8 from 8:30am – 4pm. The camp will also feature TJ Thompson, who plays professionally in the Premier European Leagues. Elite Skills and Drills will be open to all children ages 8 – 17 years of age.

The Bishop Elite AAU youth basketball organization recently secured the New Hampshire State AAU Boys Basketball Championships in the 13, 14, 16 and 17 age groups.

Demarcus Cousins played at the University of Kentucky before becoming the 5th overall draft pick in the
2010 NBA Draft. He currently plays for the NBA Sacramento Kings. Demarcus will be coming to NH to aid Bishop Elite in their fund raising efforts to take 4 of their AAU teams to the National Championships.

Demarcus, along with TJ Thompson (formally of the George Washington University and currently playing professionally overseas in the premier divisions and leagues) will run a 4 day basketball camp at the Sport Zone in Derry, NH. The camp will involve skill work, special guest speakers and a camp show case tournament for the kids to apply all of the new skills that they have gained throughout the week.

Demarcus and TJ will be supporting Bishop Elite which is a unique program located in Manchester, NH. The Bishop volunteers believe that basketball can be used as a conduit to teach kids essential tools to be successful in all aspects of life. Unlike other basketball programs, they provide mentoring and academic tutoring to all of the kids who are involved with the Bishop Clinics and AAU teams. The clinics accept and welcome all children, regardless of ability or income. Currently, the Bishop works with over 100 kids ranging from ages 5-18 and coming from all walks of life. When asked about the Bishop and its philosophy, Sudi Lett, the Director of Bishop Elite states, “We work hard to instill the importance of education, personal character and respect in all of the Bishop kids. It is our goal to provide a safe and enriching environment that teaches acceptance and appreciation of all.”
